We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during these uncertain times especially now that it is starting to increase in our own back yard of the Georges River LGA.
With the latest updates to the health orders announced on Wednesday 28 July 2021, the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced that NSW restrictions will continue until at least 12.01am on Saturday 28 August 2021. Following the NSW Government announcement, the Football St George (“FSG”), Board, CEO, COVID Sub-committee, and Competition Secretary met via zoom conferencing on Thursday, 29 July 2021 to review recent developments. Given the NSW Government announcement, it would be fair to say that we must accept the reality of not being able to resume the 2021 Winter Competition.
As such it is with a heavy heart that we advise that the Football St George board has unanimously agreed that the remainder of the 2021 season be cancelled and that play will not resume.
A meeting with FSG and all clubs will take place next week to discuss further and following that meeting the our Committee will meet and discuss the next steps for our club and members and provided an update.
