As we move to the end of our second season in mainstream football we would like to thank all clubs, teams & individuals across SGFA who have been supportive of our very successful special needs program & of course our wonderful program sponsor Rentokil.
We ended with 3 very full teams of 35 players & look like going to a 4th team in 2017.
In particular, we would like to thank the:
Carss Park 12 girls, Kogarah Waratah 14 A s who came down on a bye, Connells Point Under 17s, Georges River College Students, And SGFA Dev players from across age groups who at various times supported us at either training sessions or game day.
We thank Greg O Rourke, the new Head of the A League for being one of our biggest supporters & congratulate him on his new position.
Recently, we had players participate in the SGFA Holiday Clinics very successfully & have had a player at each clinic since we began in 2015.
In addition to Sat games, we also played in extra – curricular events at ANZ Stadium, Liverpool Legends Game, GOL Beach Tournament, The Richo Cup & the Football NSW Gala Day known as Football for All.
We were also pleased to donate $500 from our program to The Heartbeat of Football Foundation earlier in the year, as the two concepts are closely linked in beginnings through the untimely passing of Darryl, our CP President 2010-14.
We thank everyone who visited CP fields who on May 6, Darryl s 2nd anniversary, who gave generously on Warriors Weekend to support us financially & to the SGFA Development Program COE- 1st grade who on Friday Aug 12 at their Olympic Trivia Night, supported our program as well. Our Rio theme from Friday even continued into Sat s games with feather boa’s being seen in action on field, the week before we even had Pokémon hunting as part of the game! The Warriors are very good at multi-tasking…
Our players continue to delight us, their oppositions & grow in both skill & social interactions. All through football. We have a very happy group of children, parents & wider family members.
We had 4 wonderful coaches in Mel Koinis, Adam Fitzsimmons, Joey Alvarez & Nathan Hancock who continued to mentor our teams aged 5-15 yrs.
We thank the cadet refs, Michelle Allen & the SGRFA for their great ongoing support of our teams.
We have been approached by Sutherland Titans & Balmain to have an event together in the near future & to talk on how we implement our program.
Many have asked this year, The St G Warriors Program will continue to be forever linked to Carss Park FC & we look forward to playing there again in our maroon, white & red in 2017.Information to be found on both CP & SGFA websites, all volunteers of any ages welcome! Also during the off season, please contact Penny 0425 296 917
Much appreciation to our Wonderful Sponsor Rentokil for their continued support as well. And Angelo Loe, CP Life member & former Senior Vice President for his continued generosity of our program & CPFC as well.
Thank you again from The Warriors Committee, all at Carss Park & The Hancock Family for continuing to embrace our unique program.
We look forward to 2017 & beyond.
Penny Hancock
On behalf of The Warriors Program.
